Biography

Stereograph is a Baltimore based synthpop/new wave/dream pop band who's inception dates back to the earlier part of the 2000's, leading to a live debut in the fall of 2004. Their 2005 debut self-titled EP and live shows in Baltimore, New York, and regionally earned rave reviews from the Baltimore City Paper and Shockwave Magazine, as well as enthusiastic support from Baltimore Synthpop and New Wave club DJ's. Stereograph has performed with the likes of Fiery Furnaces, Hidden Cameras, Weird War, and Oppenheimer, stunning audiences, winning both fans and critical acclaim.

The band line up is: Tom LoMacchio, known previously for his acoustic works under the moniker The Deadwood Divine/Tom LoMacchio, and as front man for the mid-90's punk/emo band Plunger; horror writer and photographer turned musician and artist Daniel Rutherford. This duo are  strong, driven, and brimming with creativity and talent.

Stereograph sites musical influences such as The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, Clan of Xymox, Cocteau Twins, OMD, The Smiths, early 4AD and a general love for the 80's new wave/synthpop/post punk sound. In the current musical landscape, Stereograph fits nicely  along side artists such as The Knife, M83, The Drums, Asobi Seksu, and Fever Ray.

In 2007, not immune to life's often difficult circumstances, Stereograph was forced to go on hiatus. A catalogue of unfinished songs remained, and the band's future was uncertain. Fast forward to 2011, and Stereograph have emerged again, in a new decade, with bigger and better sounds and sights. In 2012, Stereograph released a split 12" EP with Factory Records (Joy Division/New Order) legends Section 25, and at the tail end of 2013, released the full length album "Projection". It is truly a unique album for the decade, and one that clearly demonstrates who Stereograph is, and emphatically hints at what is yet to come.
